Alexa.com is an internet traffic site that also ranks all the web sites.
In a moment to be proud, sportsjournalists.com ranks No. 192,685 for all sites, world-wide and ahead of every paper I have ever worked at.
The top three are yahoo, msn and google.
You can also break it down by category and that's when it gets interesting.
The fourth most popular sports Web site is redandyellow.com, a history of Hulkamania. It is No. 199 globally, for comparison's sake, nytimes.com is No. 185

Interesting site ... my papers are ranked 3,171,140 and 5,429,069. Alarmingly, the first one has dropped more than 600,000 spots in the past 3 months.

 

My paper's at 7,378.. but I think that's more for the parent paper's website that we share (in the Newhouse tradition) as opposed to my paper's individual website, but still pretty nice worldwide.

 

And apparently it's even more popular in Finland.

8.3% of users from the Philippines and Finland? And Canada nowhere to be mentioned. I would question those numbers unless we have a slew of posters on this site misrepresenting themselves as neighbors to the north.

 

They use a loose definition of sports.

Nice to see that MLB is the first "league" Web site in the rankings, at No. 38.

 

I like the t-shirts. My paper's site would say "0.00017% say my site rocks!"

Awesome.

 

It could be worse, I typed in my shop and I swear I heard crickets.
