Sorry Jimmah Carter. Your postseason pass is cancelled.

I voted for the Giants, just because that would be a nightmare for Bud. Depends on the matchups, really, because it's so wide open right now. Not even the Mets look that appealing to me.

Surprised to see someone else loves the Pads like me.

Screw you Mets. Have fun golfing Oct. 15.

    You know, Columbo, a Padres-Twins World Series would not...you know...do much for the...you know...NFL-type apparatus...that...you know...you think...that baseball...needs.

    I think it's a 1998 repeat.

    I say Mets over Cards.

Nice try dickhead. Wishing will not make it so.
You know as well as I do a Subway Series is inevitable.
See ya at Game 7 in the Bronx in late October. ;D

I voted Pads, too. They seem to be peaking at the right time, and with Peavy back on track, have a legit No. 1. Chris Young and Co. ain't bad, either.

I'm just wondering if they'll score enough runs.

I'll take the Mets since they have the best team.

The Giants have a scary 1-2 punch in Schmidt and Cain. If they get in, they could win the pennant. I don't think they'll get in, though.

I picked the Dodgers because of Koufax and Drysdale.

Anybody notice the Mets beat Penny (like a drum) and Maddux recently, then took two out of three on the road against the dreaded Marlins? Not quite sure why the Padres would be seen as such threats. After Peavy, their starting staff is ordinary, they don't generate much offense, and the Mets would steal Piazza blind. The Giants should be a little more worrisome to the Mets because they always play New York tough.

Also, who knows what shape the wild-card winner will be in once they get to the playoffs? What if the Padres have to pitch Peavy the last day of the season just to get in, so he can't go until Game 3? What if the Giants have to throw Schmidt on three days rest a couple of times and he's a little gassed by the time he gets to postseason? The wild-card winner could have a screwed up rotation by the time they get to the Mets, who at least will have their staff rested and set up just the way they want it.
