  1. Hey all,

This isn't a sports job, but I wanted to post it in hopes of generating some interest. This will be a really good-paying job for someone interested in working with a solid group of editors in a beautiful part of the country. And don't worry, there's plenty of alcohol to be found, if you are so inclined. :)

If anyone wants more details, PM me.

~~The Daily Herald in Provo Utah has an opening for a Night & Weekend Editor to join its newsroom management team and help us provide our audience with strong local content on a daily basis.

We’re looking for someone who thinks every word counts, be it in a headline, a cutline or a story. We want someone who thinks the web is the first place you present the news, and someone who competes with the rest of our team to make sure we’re first and best when it comes to print and online.

The Daily Herald is an a.m. newspaper, so a typical workday begins about 2 p.m. and ends around 11 p.m., with weekend shifts included. Duties include helping manage the news budget, managing page production with our Regional Design Center, copy editing, and maintaining a consistent posting cycle on our website, www.heraldextra.com.

The right candidate will have excellent news judgment and an eye for detail, grammar and AP style. Applicants must have, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Management experience is a huge plus, but recent college graduates will be considered.

We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package. We are part of Lee Enterprises, a premier publisher of local news, information and advertising in primarily midsize markets.

To apply, go to www.heraldextra.com/workhere to submit a resume, cover letter and salary expectations.

The Daily Herald is a drug free employer. The Daily Herald (www.heraldextra.com) and Lee Enterprises, Inc. (www.lee.net) are Equal Opportunity Employers.
