  2. I remember a guy writing about this a few days after the draft back in 1985

    I'm convinced that draft was fixed

    the league was struggling and they needed a strong NY market and Ewing was the answer

    i'm no conspiracy theorist, but I really think something fishy happened that day

    What that theory forgets is that in 1985 . . .

    The Bird-Magic era was in its prime, with the Lakers and Celtics about to play each other in the Finals for the second year in a row.

    And Michael Jordan had just finished his second year of wowing fans with the Bulls.

    The NBA was struggling . . . in 1978, not 1985.
