Nice piece on Chuck Noll

    The Snake was not wearing that helmet. it's the Riddel Revolution which has only been out about 2 years.

    Getting back to Noll, after a tough loss in the early 70s, a reporter asked him how he felt. Answer: With my hands.

    That sort of sums up Noll. He was funny and a pain in the ass at the same time.

    Also, the Noll/Cowher thing brings up the classic question of is talent or the coach more important? Cowher won with a lot of the guys that Noll was not winning with in the end.
    Same is true of Vince Lombardi in Green Bay....Starr, Hornung, Taylor, Nitschke, Gregg, Ringo, the Kramers, McGee were all there in 58 when the team was 1-10-1. Three years laters they were NFL champs. Were they that talented or did Lombardi make them that good?
