When you're dealing with MLSE, there's always a surprise just around the corner. Now, apparently Gary Roberts wants to come back.

Where do aging, washed-up over-the-hill ex Leafs wind up their career?

    Air Canada Centre.

I think TSN said the Panthers were looking for a third or fourth rounder in return for Roberts, the story said it was so he could spend more time close to his teenaged daughter. My question is, what happens if the Leafs don't want him back? I assume his agent already double checked things with the Leafs that they had an interest in him, but what if they change their mind? Kind of leaves him out on an island.

Robert's daughter goes to a private school in Oakville and his ex-wife has moved back to Calgary.
That's why he wants to come back.
Leafs have to stop looking backwards and start developing their young guys.
Besides with Quinn, Belfour & Domi gone, there'll probably be a new vibe in the dressing room. Roberts is linked to that old group.

And Tampa finally gets a No. 1 goalie.

They trade Fredrik Modin and Fredrik Norrena to Columbus for Marc Denis.

All those points were my concern on why wouldn't the leafs want him back. Does he retire and leave his $2+ mil in salray on the table?

With Mac-T still unsigned in Edmonton, do you think JD takes a run at him as coach? A guy familiar with the city and it's media, coming off a run to the finals ...

TSN is reporting Pisani has re-signed with the Oilers, four years at $2 million a year.

A bit of an overpayment, but with the playoffs this guy had, someone else would have matched it or gone higher.

Stars are rumored to be in the market for a left-shot defenseman to pair with Zubov. They'd trade a defenseman for offense or prospects if they signed one, as they have six under contract and one RFA. The likely candidates to be traded are Daley, Robidas or Klemm. They're also looking for a seond-line right wing or center.
