Off all the things to worry about, NFL players' hair length ain't one of them.

The NFL needs to worry about it.

I think I'd be concerned about Troy Polamalu suffering a career-ending haircut.

Seriously, you'd think getting yanked down by it once would have been enough for him.

Oh, and somebody needs to explain to the writer of that story what is and is not a ponytail.

It's a good thing most of the pullis, er, guys with big dreads play defense.

    Practicality often dictates this anyway.

Edgerrin James used to have the long hair ... until he got tackled by his long dreads.

The hair got chopped short the next week, and has stayed short since.

It's a health and safety issue. It's a long time in coming and a good idea.

    This is ridiculous.

A rule would be ridiculous. Players should just realize, if you want to let the locks flow, prepared to be tackled by them.

And don't bitch about it when it happens.

My point exactly. And to be honest, I don't know if I've heard any of the guys with longer hair bitch about this. If the NFL wants to worry about an image problem, focus on guys toting guns and shooting up strip clubs before you start getting all George Steinbrenner on everyone.
