1. It's true. The Chargers do talk more trash than any other team and well, they haven't won a playoff game since 1994. They shouldn't be saying shit, at least until they prove themselves somewhere besides the regular season.

2. Hate on Bill if you choose, but when has he not lost with class? LT nearly started a brawl on the field simply because the Pats were mocking Merriman's ridiculous dance. Then he acted like a bitch during his postgame press conference, calling out Belichick and the players. Since when is celebrating on an opposing field not allowed in the NFL playoffs, especially when you are road underdogs and emerge with a tight victory?

Because, for an organization that spouts off about how classy they are, the Pats certainly acted like it was their first playoff win.

While I crossed them off the list after this past week, the Saints can still do this.
Minnesota at Denver might be a Vikes loss.
Dallas might not play subs and could certainly be able to subdue Washington.
Can the Saints even win at Chicago?
Still, they remain in the hunt.

Let us for a moment accept the ridiculous assertion that Coach Hoodie would only give LaDanian Tomlinson the same number of carries per game as he has given Maroney. Never mind how much better a running back he is. Never mind that Maroney split carries at times this season even when he was playing.

Maroney has 789 yards rushing this season despite missing three games and parts of others. Tomlinson has not missed a game. So, if you take the 13.8 carries per game that Maroney averages, project it out over 15 games, you get 207 carries. Take Tomlinson's average of 4.7 yards per carry over only 207 carries and 973 yards, already well above your estimate.

Now figure in that Tomlinson would not have to share carries in any offense. Also, he would likely average even more yards per carry if he had a passing game like New England's to open things up for him. And perhaps, just perhaps, Coach Hoodie might run a little bit more if he had the best running back in the game.

Michael Turner and even jockey-sized Darren Sproles have put up big numbers behind that line in San Diego.

Tomlinson is a very good back, but I would like to see a significant dropoff, numbers-wise, between him and his 5.6-yard-per-carry backup.

Once again, switching the argument in mid-stride to cover up being proven wrong. Typical. You asserted that Tomlinson would have 800 yards if he played for the Patriots. You have been proven clueless yet again.

Are you really trying to say San Diego's line is that much better than New England's? Are you kidding?

Turner has only 60 carries this season and he has never had more than 80. You really aren't dense enough to think that his yards per carry with such a small sample size is that meaningful.

Darren Sproles has 35 carries this season, 25 of them coming in garbage time against a bad Detroit team.

Hey, Hokie Gajan averaged 6.0 yards on 102 carries for the Saints in 1984. I guess he belongs in the Hall of Fame, right?

Durability and sustaining that level of production with a heavy workload is part of what makes a great back. And I know you realize that. You just prefer bending reality to suit your arguments.
