    This argument is so 2005.

The Deadskins did it back in 1999 I believe.

OH, and about the Luke Petigout injury situation, I know plenty of Giants fans who applauded him going out. I also know plenty of Giants fans who currently have no fingernails. It's getting mighty interesting in the ol NFC East!

    Oh goodness, another sycophant.

    Enjoy your mediocrity.

Orioles pay a lot, I haven't seen them in the playoffs for some time. How high will the Cubs' suddenly huge payroll be next season? And will it be enough to get them into the playoffs? In your world, they would already be there.

    Hilarious.

There are two spots MAX to make the playoffs in that division.

And the Orioles don't spend near what the Yankees and Red Sox do.

Finally, it isn't that you can't fail spending a ton of money....

It's that winning is extremely difficult if you can't spend money.

Yes. Carl Pohlad and David Glass can't spend money.

And Alexander, yes, I am in NY. Don't have a favorite baseball team, though. Don't root for anyone. I am sick to hell of people wanting socialism in their favorite sports. You can afford to buy the team, fucking pay for talent.

And don't make me pull out the stats about how baseball is the only sport with different champs every year this decade.

It's BYH's plank of wood in the storm.

    Funny bastard.

How many of those teams that won were in the lower third of the league's payroll?

    Crickets.

Then they're idiots. Petitgout isn't an All-Pro, but he's good enough to win with. Whitfield isn't even close.

They lost a league average LT. Boo hoo. I don't remember hearing much sympathy from Giants fans last year when Flozell Adams went down for the year. Part of the NFL is an injury crapshoot. Pettigout was an important player, but tell Tampa, Seattle, KC etc. that it's hard to win without your run of the mill lineman & see what they say.

Seattle and KC are learning first hand that it's tough to win in the NFL without starters on the O-line. Before he broke his foot, Shaun Alexander was lamenting the departed Steve Hutchinson. You don't think Larry Johnson misses Willie Roaf on the Chiefs' right side?

Say what you will about Petitgout, but he's better than the broken down Bob Whitfield. For heaven's sake, he needs Jim Finn to chip pass-rushing defensive linemen and linebackers.

    You completely misunderstood that.
