It's always a good sign when a former offensive line coach gets a HC job and hires another former offensive line coach to be OC.

Since Jimmy Johnson retired the Dolphins have had five head coaches, seven if you count interim coaches.

They've made the playoffs once during that span, something that is pretty difficult to do with the parity in the NFL. Considering this is the place where almost every free agent wants to play, that gives you an idea of just how terrible this franchise has been over the last decade plus.

Three times, MG. Twice with Wannstache and once with Sparano. But the point stands.

They haven't had a legitimate NFL offense in all that time, either. Wannstedt's idea of offense was handing off to Ricky Williams 350 times a year, chasing him into the pot fields. The philosophies of the rest have borne expected results.

This is a team that had a 47-minute TOP and lost the game.

At this point you have to wonder if the brief Parcells reign set them back.

Some guy in North Carolina found Kris Jenkins' Super Bowl XXXVII playbook at a yard sale:

(The photo with the link is a little deceiving, because it shows the Pro Bowl playbooks, which the guy also found).

One man's trash is the same man's Super Bowl playbook, apparently ...

You are correct. I meant to say once in the last decade.

Good points all, Mizzou. It just seems like a place that has a lot of talent and Manning could make an immediate impact there. From an organizational standpoint, you're right, it's a sinkhole.

They throw nickels around like manhole covers.

If you're Manning do you want your last chance to be with a rookie head coach?

Wonder how much owning that kickball team across the pond has to do with that, Ben.

This team is such a joke they don't have a full staff yet and the combine begins in two weeks.

Yeah, and I don't understand it. Historically, it's been one of the best organizations in the league, but lately, wow... Free agents want to go there, the team is more than willing to spend money, but there's been several horrific coaching hires and when the owner pulls what he did with Harbaugh last year, without firing Sparano, it makes people steer clear.

Ravens, perfect situation. Already a playoff team, RayRay and Reed should last long enough to give Manning a run next year or the year after, tops.

Flacco is as good now as he'll ever be, a solid middle of the road QB but that's it. Flacco's due for a new contract. Dump Flacco, pay Ray Rice and give Peyton a nice contract with big bonus numbers.
Ravens have a running game and good WRs. A Harbaugh is the coach. A good organization with another year or two of solid defense. Ozzie is a quality GM.

What about Houston? Could they decide they've gotten all they ever will out of Schaub and dump him for Peyton?

I know they had one of the highest payrolls in the league last year, but I don't know how much of that was tied up in Schaub.
