Tagliabue, Guy and Kuchenberg were the notables who didn't even make it pass the first cut.

Good for Thurman, he should have been in already. Glad to see Guy didn't make the cut, he doesn't belong there.

I misspelled Wehrli's name as well. You know how the Jersey accent seems to come out of Rich Eisen when he talks. ;)

People may knock kickers and punters, but for Ray Guy, he was one of the most underappreciated players the Raiduhs ever had under Madden's tenureship. Guy could boot the shit out of that ball and put the opponents in a bind.

Fuck you Peter King. Fuck you again. [/bitter Art Monk fan]

I agree. I'm really surprised Monk didn't make the final 11. Even King said he'd vote for him. With Irvin now in, I think Monk has a better chance next year. He needs to be in.

Irvin would have made it two years ago if he wasn't such a douche...

    He deserves it though...

Oh, he could boot the ball, but he punted it in the middle of the end zone when the Raiders would have rather pinned teams anywhere inside the 20. And that's probably why his net average is so terribly pedestrian.

The modern-day version of Guy would probably be Todd Sauerbrun.

    Very true.

Kooch is the only one of those three that surprised me, but with so many o-linemen on the list, maybe not such a surprise after all. Even if Guy is the best punter of all time, tough to get him past 'position' players. And good on the voters who cast their ballots for on-field performance instead of 'contributors'.

No complaints here with the Class of 2007. See you in Canton.

Oh, and Steelers-Saints for the HOF game Sunday night.

If you thought Michael "The Crackhead" Irvin was an insufferable bore before, just wait.
