    Shanahan > McDaniels

That's what the 49ers would have everyone believe as they started sending out signals last night that they didn't want McDaniels anyway and have been focused on Shanahan all along.

    It is to laugh.

Well, now that McDaniels is staying put, ol' Chipper can finish putting the down payment on his condo Cancun....park his carcass on the beach for a year or two.....

He apparently just interviewed for the Jags' OC gig.

Don't do it, Chip. Hit the beach, Chip.

Thing is, that's a team that could go places if it could ever draft the right QB.

I think the JAgs would go to St. Louis. The Jags owner tried to buy the Rams before Kronecke exercised an option. And St. Louis does have 500 million for a new stadium.

St. Louis doesn't have $500 million for a stadium. Some extraordinarily idiotic politicians pledged that amount to try to keep an existing team, but the city didn't have it and the Rams did the citizenry a favor by not taking them up on it. That money isn't just sitting there for anyone to come in.

The people of Missouri are still paying the debt on the old stadium for another five years.

The NFL is not coming back to St. Louis.

The NFL doesn't want St. Louis, and after seeing franchises leave, St. Louis is done with the NFL.

The new Missouri governor just made a big show of saying they were no longer going to contribute public money to professional sportsball palaces, which has gravely wounded St. Louis' plans of landing an MLS expansion team.

My thought on hearing McDaniel turned them down (my old computer was on the DL at the time and has since been sent to computer heaven) were a) Coach in waiting? and b) he can do better than the shitshow in Santa Clara.
