I love this. It's like pick your own apples.

I want no part of Bill Clinton's Blood Diamond cottage industry.

A quick check of Mapquest reveals Little Rock is 125 miles from that park. If you stayed in Hot Springs, you'd be a little closer and could visit Oaklawn Park for springtime thoroughbred racing.

    Horse racing AND diamonds?
Almost enough to get me to go to Arkansas.

    Will Ponch be there?

Bring lots of sun screen, bug repellent and anti-venom.

Good Q in Murfeesboro but the area is DRY. Good Q in Hot Springs and Oaklawn is one of the two better tracks to watch the ponies in the country. Race season used to rock back in the '70s.

All-in-all, not a bad idea for the spring.

486 diamonds found this year. Wow.

Speaking of Bill Clinton, a group tour of the presidential library is a must. Followed by a pint or three at the Flying Saucer.

There's a piano bar in the River Market that is fantastically fun.

Holy shit! That would be the centerpiece of such a get-together. Would there be a place for meditation for Fenian and the gang?

Mrs. TBF and I took a trip to Hot Springs via Little Rock last spring. We had a blast. Took in the WJC library, the Flying Saucer and some other crap at the river development.

Got off the interstate and took a backroad from there to Hot Springs, where we stayed at a little B&B and got a couple of massages at the Buckstaff. Spent a day at Oaklawn (our first time at a track), and had a blast.

    Great long weekend trip.

    PS: McClard's Barbecue sucked.
