Newspapers in demand ... for the coupons, naturally

    You act like that's a new development. Our audience has almost always been a trash can.

    I'm kinda curious as to why anyone would be surprised by this.

    For years people have bought the paper for obits, the crossword, the classifieds (remember those?), the comic strips and the coupons.

    The news and everything else was just secondary, at least at a fair chunk of places.

    Now with extreme couponing, newspapers might come back and be in vogue again.

    Of note: Merchants gladly take print media coupons, but many specifically say no Internet coupons.
