News Corporation selling some FOX-affiliated stations

    And O&Os often are where the networks clean up, not on network programming.

    Are these stations mostly UHF or VHF? It probably doesn't matter as much in this day and age, but there's got to be more prestige in broadcasting on VHF.

    Mostly VHF, but there are exceptions like the CBS O&O in Atlanta is channel 46.

    Well, as Mark said, most are on VHF, since most are in major markets, and most of the stations in major markets are VHF. The affiliate shuffle that took place when CBS lost the NFL put it on UHF in some markets, Detroit being a prime example. (It's easier to pick up the Toledo VHF affiliate in Detroit than Channel 62 or whatever it is.) Fox likely has more UHF affiliates than most networks.

    I had forgotten about Detroit.
    And yes, since Fox didn't come about until 1986, they were a patchwork of UHF and some VHF stations.
    Them grabbing the NFL in 1994 really changed the landscape, major shuffles occurred.
