Ironic that Cuomo -- who managed his father's homophobic campaign (vote for Cuomo, not the Homo) -- will be the Governor to sign the bill into law.

    Passes 36-26.

Republican State Senator makes the final argument for the bill.

Dem. Senator Diaz was the final Senator trying to block it.

The amendment passed 36-26, not the bill.

That hasn't been decided by the courts.

    Ah, sorry.

Following on Twitter while watching the Yankees.

But, with passage of the amendment, the Bill will now pass. (But maybe with a smaller majority than the amendment.)

The woman with the Tea Party Patriots sign seems to not know what to believe. Just another example of the movement not really believing in limited government.

You know it's big news when MSNBC preempts Lockup: Raw.

Rachel Maddow is not leaving the studio until this is done.

Just like how TV news crews send cameras to sports bars for big sporting events, the bars on Christopher Street have reporters all over them.

Hopefully, they don't turn over any cars or set any fires to celebrate the championship bill's passage.

Good thing there wasn't this much coverage when Maryland came oh so close to passing it earlier this year. Of course, when a couple of the co-sponsors actually had to put their money where their mouth was, suddenly those campaign promises seemed to ring a lot more hallow than they hinted.

Incredible that just yesterday Obama spoke before a GLBT fundraiser in NYC and didn't have the balls to endorse this bill or gay marriage.

Yet, it just passed a Republican State Senate.

Was this bill passing more quid pro quo than anything to get a property tax cap passed?
