Why do New York fans think they're the best fans in sports, yet boo their own players without mercy?

    Just wondering.

No, no, no. St. Louis baseball fans are the best in sports. They say so themselves.

OK, there wasn't any sarcasm involved here, unlike the East Coast baseball thread that made me snicker.

There's now speculation on ESPN that ARod should get traded because the hometown fans are so mean, it's in his head.

New York fans hide behind the "We're New York, we can boo our own players" excuse, but isn't that just a big crock of horse shit? I think it's quite likely that given ARod's personality, the Yankee fans are hurting their own baseball team by constantly keeping on ARod's ass during a struggling time. It's like he's playing 162 road games.

Once he hits a home run, though, it's all good, isn't it?

Good attendance makes good fans? Yeah, the Yankees draw well. They also win a lot and reside in a city of 9 fucking million people. Getting 50,000 of them to go out and see the world's most famous baseball team in the House that Ruth built shouldn't be a major struggle.

Rant over. Just remember, NewYork fans, that you're full of shit and you're terrible fans.

Yankees couldn't draw flies when they sucked in the early '90s. Yankee fans are the biggest frontrunners ever.

As for the ARod trade debate, it's hilarious it's coming from Steve Phillips, who has been catching shit for six years for supposedly offending AFraud into not signing with the Mets after the 2000 season (yet Jim Duquette doesn't get blamed for not getting Vlad Guerrero to sign with the Mets after the 2003 season...hmm, what's the one link there, oh yes, Fred Wilpon). He probably just knew what we've all since figured out: ARod can't handle the heat.

To keep it in the baseball spirit, that one came out of left field.

All fans think they're the best fans. Isn't that natural.
And New York fans do have the right to boo.
Just like you have the right to think that makes them bad fans.
