Last things that one would expect to see at 48th St. and 8th Ave. are a garden or an inn. I'm just saying.

I am - eat at Pigalle's while you are there. It's literally right there, may actually be part of the hotel. Great fresh bagel/muffin joint, all made on premises, about 2-3 blocks up on eighth. Maybe 52nd? You can't miss it.

You can get on the D at 53rd and 7th.

Be sure to ask the porter for a seat in the club car.

While we're at it: How long from Manhattan to Yankee Stadium? And how do I get there?

Times Square is in Manhattan, tourist.

    Even I know that :)

I'm talking cab or subway. I'm driving from Toronto to Manhattan, where I have a parking space.

Then I need to get from Manhattan to the Yankees game.

I probably should know that. But I suppose I don't. I don't know. This will be my first trip to NYC.

While we're at it, I need a good place to drink after a Wednesday night Yankees game. Any suggestions?

Cab is quicker dependent on time of day.
They get on the FDR by the UN, then to the Deegan, puts you right out by Yankee.

Subway takes longer, but if rush hour, better option.

Times Square to Yankee Stadium by subway.... wouldn't it be easier to take the 1,2, or 3 up to Columbus Circle and hop the D up to the stadium?
