New Years superstitions

    Last time that happened to me, she got pregnant, which was scary. Then she had a miscarriage, which led to many kinds of sad.

    Now, I watch movies and part of a bowl game involving a team I want to watch. But movies get first dibs.

    I don't even really like black eyed peas, but I grew up with the tradition and at least have a spoonful every year. I could hardly live farther from the south now, but every Dec 30th or so, there's a blank spot where the grocery store stocks the one little row of black eyed peas. It's always a little reassurance that there are a few of us transplants out there.
