I am looking for any actual research on the new type of turf, you know the stuff with crumbled up tires and blades of rubber grass. I want to know if there are and studies on the injury rates playing on the new turf vs. natural grass.

    Anyone? Beuller?

p.s. Has FieldTurf become the Kleenex of this new type of turf yet? I think so.

Unfortunately, there are no reliable injurie studies just yet because the stuff is too knew. Be very careful of any study you read -- the data is merely anecdotal.

That said, check in with the University of Nebraska. That school was the first to install FieldTurf. Whatever statistics they've gleaned are most likely the closest to being accurate.
