you basically d/l the files to your computer and convert them to .wav files with an easy to use drop-and-drag program and then burn them to CD.

here's a program that can handle almost all the lossless file formats. it's pretty self-explanatory with a wee bit of trial and error.

i can also email you the installation program if that's easier

Sweet. I just tried this and it was easy as can be. I figured it out in about 10 seconds.
Are there any more free sites like this for other bands?

this site has hundreds of bands, most of them obscure, some not. and they're all taper/trader friendly and have given approval to allow their shows to be downloaded. be back in a few minutes with the best link.

this is the broadest directory http://www.archive.org/browse.php?collection=etree&field=%2Fmetadata%2Fcreator
this is the dead directory http://www.archive.org/browse.php?collection=GratefulDead&field=%2Fmetadata%2Fyear
among the other, more obscure offerings, grace potter and the nocturnals are highly recommended.

much of the material is available for mp3 downloads if you only want them for an ipod. much is also available for streaming. be back later with anything i can find but keep in mind that many of the more popular acts aren't taper/trader friendly so the chances of finding easily downloadable sites are slim.
