New Jersey abolishes death penalty

Having not executed anyone since 1963, this is a simply logical move.

Gov. Corzine signed the bill this morning abolishing the death penalty in New Jersey.
One of the best things Corzine has done in an otherwise shaky administration.

    FACT!

There just isn't a need for it. No reason to have it around.

But when those guys get off death row they still won't be allowed to pump their own gas.

I believe he communted their sentences to life without parole.

An acknowlegement that capital punishment doesn't work. Texas is not a safer state than New Jersey.

Someone else gets to stand in the cold and pump my gas while I still get to pay less money than nearly every other location in the US. I don't consider that a bad thing.

New Jersey currently has the 8th lowest gas prices in the country. (According to AAA, Dec. 15)
And, as Pastor said, I'm sitting in my car nice and comfy while some poor schlub stands in the sleet and freezing rain pumping my gas.
The rest of you don't know what you're missing.

When I have returned to New Jersey, that is what I find to be a big pain in the neck. I want to pump my gas and get out of there.

Of course, the better pizza and newspapers more than make up for the lack of self-service gas.

Query: In the cold and or rain and snow, do you tip the gas guy?

    Three words Zeke:

    No Fucking Way!

It's his fucking job. Do you tip the supermarket cashier or bagger?

Well, no, but, then again, they aren't outside in the weather. And my Dad does tip the drive-up guys at the grocery store. (I don't use drive-up.)

Of course, I'm not a bitter old dickhead, and, having a pair of testicles, I pump my own damn gas. :D

Just another example of liberal socialist fucktards trying to create a nanny-state, I guess.

Spnited, I fill up in NJ almost exclusively (I drive very little and have people I visit in the Garden Oil and Petrochemical Refinery State). My question is a matter of etiquette. I drive the ugliest piece of crap you can imagine and I am not as wealthy as I pretend. Yet, I always feel compelled to tip the guys who pump my gas -- even though, I'd gladly hop out and pump it myself if the law didn't prohibit it. Is that standard or am I being an idiot?

As for the death penalty. Good for NJ. I never have understood why people are so gung-ho to kill people -- even the worst among us. Isn't there something inside us inherently better than that? And doesn't anyone worry about the one (even if it is one in a million) guy who gets executed who is innocent?
