New Football League

Former NCAA president Cedric Dempsey and 12 other people are creating a new football league alled the "All American Football League". It's going to use college football rules and won't compete with the NFL. They are also going to play in college football markets. "Though Dempsey declined to say where the teams will play, he said the cities will feature colleges from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Southeastern Conference and Big Ten."

The biggest catch? The player has to have a degree to participate.

Will it last longer than the XFL?

I bet it lasts even shorter than the United Baseball League.

It all depends on how it's marketed and how they try to run the thing. If they follow the Arena Football League model I think it could run as a success, but they better not have any high hopes of grandeur. build small and slow and in markets where the NFL won't go and you have a chance. Could this be the start of maybe a farm system for the NFL on this side of the ocean? At the very least if they are able togive a few players a second chance at a football career, in the end it may be worth while.

They're talking $30 a ticket to this thing. Not a prayer in Hades.

They're only going to play at high altitudes?

Oh, I bet you meant "sights."

    Nevermind.

They could have saved themselves millions by just giving me $2 million and then forgetting about this shitty idea.

If the players can give themselves nicknames, I'll watch. The world needs more players named He Hate Me.

He Graduate Me scores a touchdown! Great pass by Wilson (Basket Weaving, '03)!
