He's essentially saying out loud that Hardy's football talent outweighs his being a terrible human being off the field. We beg for owners, coaches, etc. to admit that. This is what Jones is doing. Takes some balls to put out that statement after the last 48 hours.

I respect Jones for not reacting to the photos. As he said, they didn't see them, but they were aware that this was a serious incident. I'll take this over the Ray Rice silliness, when all was good until the video came out. Even though we all were told what was in it. Before there was video, John Harbaugh was encouraging them to get counseling together.

Eh. There was at least some investment in Rice previously as a person. Rice had also performed at a level where no one blinks if he's cut. Hardy was a mercenary. The Cowboys did not draft him, develop him or care a lick about him beyond his ability to sack people. John's statements were pretty two faced considering he's the one who wanted Rice cut. But he certainly cared about the Rices (probably in some quasi-religious way) on a human level far greater than Jones' laughable statement about Hardy.

Why would we doubt that Hardy is sincerely apologetic? He has anger issues. I'm sure he's ashamed of what he's done after he's sufficiently at a distance.

The cartoon is shameful, considering the racial dynamics at play.

Is there ever going to be anything that doesn't have racial dynamics at play?

Because he was drawn as a caveman?

A caveman dragging a white woman by her hair. Yes. A savage.

How dare the cartoonist depict something so ... so ... savage.

He depicted a black man as a cave man. You don't go there.

Bullshit you don't go there. Caveman behavior has no color.
