Bingo. Definitely my third favorite Xmas movie behind Christmas Story and Vacation.

I've heard this debate a few times. I guess it depends on how you define a Christmas movie. Could Die Hard have worked set on another day? Sure. So could It's a Wonderful Life. Make it Thanksgiving and does it really ruin the thing?

Then again, Christmas probably has a slightly different meaning for me.

I won't argue that Die Hard is a Christmas movie...but it does feel right watching it at Christmas. If that makes any sense.

Personally, I think It's a Wonderful Life is iffy as a Christmas movie. But a couple key plot points revolve around Christmas.

Die Hard was set at Christmas to be ironic.

Agreed. It does feel right to watch that movie at Xmas time. Just like it feels right to pop in the special edition Mason Final Four highlight DVD around Easter time. :)

I would think you would rather watch the Elite Eight, Sweet 16, Round of 32... :)

Bad Santa is no joke. And Home Alone is the shit.

Oh, the DVD highlights Mason's entire tournament run.

Elf works on multiple levels, probably the best of the bunch.
Netflix gave me a bunch of "anti-Christmas" movies "Reindeer Games, Bad Santa, and that movie with John Cusack where he rips off some strip club or something on Christmas Eve. Bad Santa didn't do it for me, and it was probably the best of the bunch.

I like that idea. I may rent them this weekend!

The only thing Reindeer Games had going for it was an evil Charlize Theron.

I hated that movie. It made me flash back to all of my "split" Christmases as a kid. Truly depressing.
