Since I'm already registered here, I've been asked to post here.
The Times of Trenton (aka the Trenton Times) is looking for a few stringers to help with our high school sports coverage. Our main focus are the public and private high schools in Mercer County, although we also cover some schools in northern Burlington, southern Hunterdon and southern Somerset Counties. You will be asked to cover the scholastic games and meet an early daily deadline. There is a small chance you will be asked to cover a collegiate event as Princeton, Rider, The College of New Jersey, and Mercer County Community College all call Mercer County home.
I work on the copy desk and don't deal with assigning and paying stringers, so I can't tell you about the going rate per article. I can tell you that stringers get no mileage reimbursement.
If interested send your resume to Scholastic Sports Editor, Barry Federovitch at bfederov@njtimes.com.
Writers who live close to Mercer County preferred.
