The key to placing photos is that regardless the size that it is placed at, when you are reducing or enlarging to fit the space, you need to click on the corner of the photo while holding the shift key down at the same time. This will force the photo to be enlarged or reduced at the proper scale, eliminating the distortion that comes with reducing/enlarging disproportionately.

As for the photos being fuzzy, is this something that comes on screen or when printed out? If it is just on screen, then don't worry about it. If it is a problem when printed, it is probably because the dpi of the photos isn't big enough (a photo is 72 pi online and looks good but to print them out, they need to be 300 dpi). Another issue is whether the photo is a .tif or .jpg.

PM if you have more questions are want to get more detailed.

I personally love Pagemaker but just made the move professionally to In Design.

The question needs to be repeated: Do they look fuzzy on the screen, or in print? They're not going to look all that clear on the screen. But if it prints ok, then go forth and conquer.

Say what you want about PageMaker, but it got the job done ... at 600 kilobytes per page.

    Those were the days.

$10 hookers get the job done, but who wants to use them?

You can download a 30-day trial version of InDesign CS3 from adobe.com.

If newspapers could swing it, they'd get a $10 hooker for $2. And they'd still fight over that price.
