Osborne's the AD? I thought the Huskers hired Bill Callahan to replace Sainted Tom.

No, he's not. And they hired Solich to replace Osborne. They hired Callahan to replace Solich.

Perhaps the boots pipeline can shed some light on this one for us...

Boots says this one is a good job for someone two years out of college.

It would be ... except I'm not sure someone like that would get this position, given how many experienced writers will apply.

    Guys:

This definitely is a good job. You'll learn from some good guys in Sipple, McKeever, Rosenthal, etc. John Mabry, who used to be the paper's sports editor, just was hired as the paper's ME. He is solid.

You've got a great competitive situation with the Omaha paper. I've always had good dealings with Bill Callahan and Steve Pederson. They understand the media and how important it is for their business.

And don't knock Lincoln unless you've been there. It's a good solid college town with all of the trappings that go with it. And the fans eat, sleep and breathe Cornhusker sports. I guarantee people will be reading your stuff - closely - whether it's football, baseball, basketball or volleyball.

Plus, all of the Runzas you can eat. Is this a great country, or what?

Ugh. Runza's is the least of good things in Lincoln.

It helps if you were raised on Bohunk cuisine.

I'd guess Todd is wondering where his desk went underneath the pyramid of resumes.
