Very good read. A study released today concludes Bowl Championship Series (BCS) universities receive less stringent probation penalties from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) than other Division I institutions for violating the governing body’s rules. Will be interesting to see what the fallout is.

Bottom line is that MEAC and SWAC schools don't have the money to pay former NCAA enforcement types to counsel them on how to beat the raps.

You may have a point there.

Or to hire decent compliance people.

But try telling someone at Alabama that the NCAA takes it easy on BCS conference schools.

They tend to take it easy on BCS conference schools who do not lie to them and who are not repeat violators.

It seems to me that once SMU got the death penalty, the ramifications of happened to a once proud program scared the NCAA. Don't think anyone will ever get the dp again.
