Refs actually missed a big play on this drive. On the 3rd and 20 play, the LSU right tackle flinched pretty hard but got back into his stance before anyone noticed. It was right as LSU got to the line, and the d-end jumped up and down asking for a call for about five seconds.

I doubt it would've mattered, since LSU picked up a big gain on the play and the kicker had already narrowly missed a 57-yarder, but it's rare to see refs miss the smallest flinch on the OL.

Gotta have a quality QB. LSU doesn't have one.

Neither does USC, if Sanchez plays. The Trojans - right now - are the third-best team in the Pac-10, behind Cal and Oregon. If Sanchez keeps playing, or if Booty doesn't get better, USC will lose to both of those teams. Oregon had some major injuries against WSU that hurt its depth.

Cal QB Longshore was cleared to play on Saturday, But he's a statue and wound have gotten beaten up by Oregon State's pass rush. Riley was more mobile and made some plays with his feet that Longshore couldn't make. Tedford, one of the best coaches in the Pac-10, picked the guy who gave his team the best chance to win.

Note to gamblers for 2009: Oregon State is 6-3 in its last nine game in Berkeley, has won four in a row there, and is 7-2 in its last nine anywhere against the Bears.
