UF will lose 5-7 games this year.

    FSU is a year away.

Most of these teams have major issues.

Bama and LSU at QB and Oregon and Stanford with the OL.

FSU is on the verge of being a force again. Maybe not this year...

The Hokies are doing plenty well filling that spot on their own.

LSU seems a tad high, depends on how much you are sold on Jordan Jefferson.

Five teams in the top 20 from the SEC West....wow.

Stanford also seems a bit high and FSU, as someone else said, is a year away. However, if it gets past OU, the schedule is not a killer.

Aside from that, I've always felt rankings should start after week 4, but I doubt that will ever happen.

That there's wrong. The SEC shud have 13 in the poll cause it's the greatest league in the history of greatness!!!!

No way will Nebraska finish close to the top 10 playing that Big 10 schedule

Auburn at No. 19 has to be the lowest preseason ranking for a defending champion in as far back as I can remember.

I think Oklahoma State being No. 8 is bigger news than OU being No. 1. It's amazing how far the Cowboys have come under Gundy.

I'd say amazing's a touch of overstatement. That OSU starts in the top 10 is indeed impressive, but it's hardly surprising or amazing. If T. Boone Pickens were writing checks to Colorado State, they'd have a good chance to be No. 8 in the country.

Not sure I'd go that far ...

I would. Money talks. The players sure aren't committing for the privilege of playing in scenic Stillwater.
