Meanwhile, that deal saved the Nuggets, George Karl's job and a group of selfish gunners suddenly cared about basketball again.

Glen Combs! His son went to my high school.

Not bad at all. 6 mill a year, for 3 years. Solid move by the Lakers. I'd much rather have Artest than Ariza, who, not coincidentally, played out of his mind in a contract year.

I still want Ariza, but it's not looking good.

I like adding Artest, though. Another guy who will battle inside. Can he shoot?

This is the move that pretty much guarantees ... that they won't win another title next season.

Honestly, getting Artest and losing Ariza is pretty much a wash to me. Ariza is sort of a Ron-in-waiting.

So Artest is the way to lure K away from Duke?

Do you think he would rather show Kyle Singler how to defend the pick and roll or show Artest how to not make eye contact with visiting fans?

I think K would fail miserably in the NBA. Just my thought.

    Not doubting that at all.

I think the college-to-pro coaching debate has been resolved.

Didn't K already say there's no way no how he's ever leaving Duke?

I know in most coaching circles, that's code for, "I'm so fucking outta here." But in this case, I believe him. No job is better than the one he's got.

Well, except for the UNC one. [/unabashed Tar Heel shill]
