NBA? Nobody watches the NBA. Hockey gets more viewers than hoops

For the record, the Pittsburgh game was the national game. The game between the New York teams was on ONLY in the New York area.

I'd be shocked if the majority of people were watching that game. BBJ's a huge draw, and that's certainly why I got up early to watch hockey on TV.

The Stanley Cup finals drew a 3.4 rating in 1995.

    The following years were as follows: 3.6, 4.0, 3.3, 3.4, 3.7, 3.3, 3.6, 2.9, 2.6, 2.3.

This applies only to broadcast network games, not to games that ESPN covered (there was split coverage for a period).

I cannot find what the ratings for the 1994 finals were.

    Game 7 of Canucks-Rangers did a 5.2 on ESPN.

Last year's seventh game was a 3.5 on NBC.

Ah screw it. It's baseball season. Who cares?

Seriously, I have no doubt hockey draws strong regional numbers. And that survey came from Boston? Seen the Celtics lately up there??

You think hockey is bad right now? Just wait 20 years from now. Kids don't give a shiznit about hockey(or baseball).

The problem is always that most American kids have never played. There's no connection other than what they see on TV.

And hockey is not a good TV sport although CBC and NBC are trying to improve their coverage all the time.

I worry about baseball because it's my second favourite sport and registration in Little League (at least up here) and other youth leagues is way down.

Kids are playing summer hockey, lacrosse & summer football.

This is so dumb as to border on psychosis.

    I like it.

Because, by that logic, soccer would be the most popular sport in the country.
