Hundreds Of Birds Kill Themselves Crashing Into NASCAR Hall of Fame

Hundreds of birds launched themselves into the side of the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Tuesday night, killing themselves ... and the surreal scene was all caught on video.

A woman in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina filmed the chaos ... saying for OVER AN HOUR -- birds continued to kill themselves by running into the building's windows.

Must have been on the other side of the building. I left that building a few minutes before midnight and didn't see a thing.

Because pileups with those getting too close to one another at Daytona and Talladega aren't enough ...

Well, when you put a large glass building between North Wilkesboro and Rockingham, things like this are bound to happen.

Not sure what his position was, but maybe he was about to go a lap down and trying to stay on the lead lap. Or maybe he had some issue that needed fixing and that was the only way to get it done without waiting for the next round of pit stops.

but if you have a tire going down, it's going down and you can pit - so I'm guessing he just wanted to freeze the field with a yellow?

That's the idea. If you pit alone under green, you're kind of screwed. If you pit under yellow you might lose a few spots but won't lose any laps.

This could all be avoided if NASCAR actually possessed the stones to tell those eliminated to stay home. But sponsors and all the crap ...

Typical NAScrap ... we'll manipulate you, but we'll make sure you don't do the same. And if you do ...
