Commentary from Crandell, out of Sacramento, is especially interesting.

Why would you put that on the air? Big deal.

Montoya looked at his watch, said '5:01' and said he was done. Maybe he was only scheduled to do interviews until 5.

Not knowing Montoya's side, maybe he had other obligations after his interviews, or maybe he was tired of giving multiple interviews. The drivers do have a lot of demands for their time.

Or, maybe he was just being a jerk. Who knows?

Either way, it shouldn't have been shown on the air.

Gotta side with the sports anchor on this one.

He budgets time in his show for a JPM interview to provide viewers with NASCAR coverage, then the driver who's supposed to do the interview looks at his watch, says "5:01" and then leaves?

    Guy needed 2-3 minutes, tops.

Either way, he's putting the NASCAR stuff in his show. Hey, he set aside some time for it, after all. Who can blame him?

I can blame him for whining about it. Are we supposed to write stories about every athlete who blows us off for an interview?

The on-air kvetching is a little much, but the commentary itself is accurate. NASCAR has gotten far too big for its britches in terms of driver (un)availability.

That's true. He was spot on. I will give him that.

Driver walked out. Big deal. Find something else.

Don't be a whiner. Why? No one cares.

  9. If so I am going to have a much easier time fufilling my story quotas.

Joe Stud, when asked why he blew off the interview with Evil ... Orville, refused to comment.
