Very well done! Love that they did that one live at the Bammies with Ss on their shirts and then made $ signs out of them with skinny ties ala the Knack.

    Have to think about yours.

Is that comma between "leave" and "America" in the original? Changes it from personal to political.

I'm guessing Van would never tell.

I blush. I'm really just a huge nerd in disguise.

    How about this?

When adventures like cars we would ride
And the years lied ahead still untried

I'm going to be sorry I did this, someday.

    Cyndi Lauper, Change of Heart.

    God, I'm so embarrassed.

From Alan Jackson's Honky Tonk Christmas (sorry, got the title of the some wrong, it's If We Make It Through December)

Got laid off down at the factory
And their timing's not the greatest
    In the world
Heaven knows I've been working hard
    Wanted Christmas to be right
    For daddy's girl
I don't mean to hate December
It's meant to be the happy time of year
And my little girl don't understand
Why daddy can't afford no Christmas here

I didnt know Jackson covered it. Iif we make it through December is correct, but I was looking for Merle Haggard.

    You're up.
