Can they really just transfer their properties like NASCAR, MLB, NFL and College sports over to their new cable operation from their over the air broadcast properties?

They've had this fantasy for a while. Their purchase of the Dodgers was intended as part of their plan to start regional networks and ultimately dominate sports television.

Mike Douglas was so much better than Regis. Douglas was a 5 tool player and he didn't need a fake blonde co-host either.

Their college football expansion was also part of this effort.

Which is great except their college football package by and large sucks.

Anything's possible, but I really don't care. There's probably not a household in America that watches Fox less than I do.

My guess is they won't really be able to ramp up their offerings until contracts come up for renegotiation but in in the interim the regional nets already air quite a bit of baseball so it would seem they could move some of that over.

The "national" college football and basketball games they air on the regional channels and FX will probably wind up here as well. As for NASCAR, what were they showing on Speed? Wouldn't they just continue to air that?

NBC is already ahead of them, and doesn't CBS already have something?
