    I remember that skit very well. IIRC, it was early in the Carvey's tenure and I remember thinking, "This guy isn't so bad." He went on to do Church Lady, Garth, Hans and Franz, and crazy "chicken-make-lousy-house-pet" guy (to name a few) and ruled that show a few years.

    As awesome as Carvey was, the heart of that squad was Hartman. Can't believe it's been 10 years since he's been gone.

    My favorite Carvey skit: Massive Headwound Harry.

    I'm still partial to Dana Carvey's "Grumpy Ol' Guy"

    "In my day we didn't have.....AND WE LIKED IT."

    I think he had the highest number of memorable characters on SNL. Any one of them would dwarf the characters regurgitated on SNL these days.

    I think Will Ferrell, Eddie Murphy and Phil Hartman were better castmembers.

    Though not by too much.

    We tend to over-romanticize the PTPers because they're the first we saw.
