I'm a 24 year old moving to San Diego in September from the East Coast by myself without a job. A bold move, I realize, but I'm ready for a change. I know it's expensive, but I'll live in a box if I must.

Any tips from journalists who live there or have lived there recently? What do I need to know before I move?

San Diego is German for a whale's vagina. Jazz flute is also big there.

A buddy of mine just moved out there a month or two ago without a job...of course, he's married to a super good-looking OB/GYN who has a job at the Navy hospital out there and they got a nice apartment with her housing allowance. He just got on with the big suburban paper out there as a reporter.
There are a hell of a lot of papers out there and there's a lot of competition for readers in those suburban markets. The cost of living out there is crazy. You may have to find a roommate, unless you can find a good looking doctor to live with.

Never tell the city to go fuck themselves. They'll riot.

San Diego has many leather-bound books and smells of rich mahogany.

secondly, I wanna say something. I'm gonna put it out there; if you like it, you can take it, if you don't, send it right back. I want to be on you
