Movies you like but everybody else hates

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Evil ... Thy name is Orville Redenbacher!!, Apr 27, 2010.

  1. I'm borrowing from Mizzou's musicians thread.

What are some movies that you like that everybody else hates ...

For me (around SportsJournalists.com) its Forrest Gump.
I love that movie and think its awards were well earned. Yeah there were some standout flicks that year, but Forrest Gump was the best.
I'll watch the first half of that movie over and over.

Mr. Bean's Holiday. Rowan Atkinson is a comic genius.

    Escape from New York.

I tried to watch it with my kids, thinking they'd love it. They hated it and thought I was crazy.

I'll just quote the great Patton Oswalt... "If I could have access to a time machine, I would go back to 1998 and beat George Lucas to death with a shovel." ;)

Haven't seen Howard since I was, oh, 15 or so, but I thought it was funny as hell, too. I'm not sure if I would like it so much as an adult.

One movie that I liked that didn't get very good reviews or draw too well at the box office was Billy Crystal's Mr. Saturday Night.

I'll agree with the first and third choices. :)
