Mothers see health benefits in eating their placenta after giving birth

    My wife did the whole hippy-trippy natural water birth, breast-feeding, organic baby food, etc. but that was a little too much even for her. She did end up donating it - apparently can help people with certain kinds of blindnesses recover their eyesight.

    On a side note, placenta smells......unusual.

    I read health benefits and see it involves eating a placenta and I think of a really, really, REALLY crappy insurance plan.
