  4. I read somewhere recently that it is now believed Van Gogh didn't cut off his ear. It was done by Gaughan (maybe?) or another famous artist with whom he roomed during a drunken quarrel.

    I've sometimes thought through the years that Johnny Depp has been fitting himself into this category more and more, although not yet to a truly weird extent.

    And lately, Joaquin Phoenix, too.

    I would say Johnny Depp is more just unique or eccentric, but not downright weird.

    I think the weirdness crown will always be Howard Hughes. Dear god, there weren't enough psychopathic drugs in the world to cure him.
