    it's always good when a class act like chris botta, my neighbor and friend, gets some pub at the islanders' expense. he was always too good for that organ-eye-zation. ::)

    Basically, most of the PHWA chapters buckled instead of standing up for one of their own. It's a typical "Don't do try this crap again or we might do something about it."

    When not pissing off your hosts got mentioned on the media gifts thread, this is situation is one of those where the writers are too close to their sources.

    Pollak's been part of the Mercury's coverage of the Sharks since the Cow Palace days. No reason to believe he's not giving us a straight story.

    So rather than employ whatever clout the PHWA has to take a direct stand on an issue integral to its mission (access), the organization decided to buckle so that it would not disturb an activity that is already a conflict of interest (awarding trophies to those hard-working and deserving players that, oh by the way, they cover).

    Not only are they p--sies, they are p--sies with priorities that are severely out of line with their chosen profession.

    You should be embarrassed to be in the PHWA.
