MORE layoffs in Las Vegas?

    Just heard from a friend that the Las Vegas Sun laid off some staff today ... one name mentioned was sports writer/political cartoonist Mike Smith ... anyone got any more info to share?

    I have not been in Vegas in 20 years and have not seen the paper. How does this JOA work? I don't believe they publish separate editions. What do they do?

    I could be wrong, but isn't there a section of Sun-produced stuff in the Review-Journal? Either once a week or daily?

    Last I was in Vegas and picked up the paper -- a couple of years ago -- that was the case.

    The Sun in the last 2-3 years has ramped up its online presence big time. And we know how well online media pays the bills....
