Andre Dawson just giggled and doesn't know why.

Dawson's selection is generally regarded as one of the worst in history.

He had an awful OB % and there were probably 20 OF with MUCH BETTER OB% etc etc.

He is not even among the top 10 in WAR for position players.

The Cardinals (one team) had FOUR players with a higher WAR.

The Giants had SIX players with a higher WAR.

The Mets had 5 with a higher WAR and two others were just a tenth of a point below.

I would go with Posey since he also caught the staff that had the greatest month almost ever, plus his HRs and RBIs look better now.

Wait, do RBIs still count? What was his WAR? How about his BSTAT?

Or do we not grade him as high since his team won? What was his OPS against the Dodgers? Hey he hit 26 percent of his home runs against the Pirates!!! Oh, don't take the time to look it up because I didn't.

It appears you take very little time to look anything up.

The Robin Yount of 1989 had a chuckle as well.

The Posey v. Heyward debate is especially interesting because each guy was (arguably) his team's MVP toward the end of the season.

Heyward buoyed the Braves enough in August and September to prevent an out-and-out collapse, and Posey ignited a struggling Giants offense.

I'm not throwing an opinion in this one, though. I want Heyward to win because I'm a Braves fan. But I won't be mad if Posey wins it.
