That it wasn't a spring training game (and that Realmuto is apparently a pretty mild-mannered guy) is probably the only reason this didn't end in bloodshed. Can you imagine an ump doing that in the middle of a pennant race or the playoffs?

 

The steroids must be leaking into Roger's brain pan. When he was really Rocket Roger, throwing 100 when everybody else was pushing 96, when he got 0-2 on people, he didn't waste pitches, he fired in another one at 101 and slammed the door.

Maybe Retirement Rog tossing in the low 90s fooled around with wasting pitches.

Tonight in San Francisco, Sergio Romo came in in the top of the seventh to pitch in last game as a Giant. So of course the ump calles an automatic ball before he faces his first batter.

 

Yeah I always believe the guy who calls wife a roider to save himself.

 

Me: Maybe you should trade some of your organizational depth for a frontline starter now?

Me: Is this because you don’t want to pay a veteran starter money?
