Btw since we are talking about mls, my former teammate Clement Simonin played his first game with Toronto this past weekend, Simonin is a baller, Im sure he will do good in mls.

The Memphis Rogues of the original NASL killed pro soccer in that city for the next 100 years. Awful franchise.

Memphis, Birmingham and Orlando -- the trifecta of southeastern sports mediocrity.
Birmingham has had a team in just about every non-NFL football league that has existed in the past 40 years (WFL, WLAF, USFL, XFL and CFL).

Not to mention the Memphis Americans MISL team. Coached for a time by Kyle Rote Jr., pretty much making his shelf life as a "thing" expire.

In other news, we need to break the bank and hire Simeone, Klinsmann has not idea what he got himself into.

Name a pro team at the top level (minor league baseball and hockey seem to have a following) in Memphis not called the Grizzlies that was a success. All the failed ABA teams, USFL, XFL, CFL. No, Memphis State isn't in the SEC, but it's right in the heart of things.

The University of Memphis needs to change its name back. Memphis State was bad-ass back in the day. Just "Memphis" screams "mid-major" in every sport.
