A top-notch reporter who can provide engaging, audience-first multimedia coverage is needed in the State of Hockey.

Forum Communications has a talented group of sports reporters covering hockey at Minnesota Duluth, Bemidji State University and the University of North Dakota.

Now we are looking to add an experienced sports reporter, based in the Twin Cities, to our team to primarily focus on the Golden Gophers. In addition, this reporter will also assist with coverage of the programs at St. Cloud State University and Minnesota State Mankato.

The Minnesota college hockey reporter will develop strategic and comprehensive coverage for Gophers hockey and identify additional opportunities to enhance our company’s overall college hockey efforts.

The ideal reporter can work independently to identify storytelling opportunities and plan coverage with the FCC sports editor and FCC director of content for publication on multiple digital platforms, so the ability to produce videos and participate in podcasts and other digital/broadcast formats is essential.

The Minnesota college hockey reporter should expect to develop ideas into relevant, audience-engaging enterprise, features, game coverage and analysis to become fans’ first source for essential news and insight into the Gophers’ program.

Across the company, our sports reporters coordinate with each other to provide comprehensive coverage of college hockey teams in Minnesota and North Dakota and affiliated conferences.

A collaborative and audience-first mindset is essential, with a command of digital formats and engagement, to champion our efforts.

A family owned company, Forum Communications is making a major investment in journalists to deliver content to audiences for its 30-plus media websites across four states. Additionally, the company’s Forum News Service provides content to more than 100 newspapers.

In addition to a competitive salary, Forum Communications offers benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K and paid time off.

A valid driver's license with a record insurable by the company is required.

To apply, click here or send send a resume, cover letter and work samples by Tuesday, Sept. 18, to FCC Director of Content Steve Wagner via email at swagner@forumcomm.com.
