What infuriates me about this story is the sheer stupidity.

    They thought we'd care.

Like it matters to my whether Pat Tillman died from friendly fire or an enemy IED.

There are plenty of reasons to have been against this war from the beginning. The fact that Pat Tillman died from friendly fire isn't anywhere near the top. He died in a war he volunteered for, a war we shouldn't be engaged in. We sacrificed him, as we did so many others, on the altar of incompetence. That's what makes people mad. How it happened is tertiary at best.

    Absolutely asinine.

I can think of few reasons to be against the war in Afghanistan. That's where Tillman was killed. I have no problem with him being over there at all.

That assumes that we fought the war in Afghanistan to accomplish something, rather than just as a good PR move before we could get back to the original plan of invading Iraq.

yeah, it's a stupid story. we shouldn't care that a few bigwigs in our military think it's important to manufacture bullshit movie-like PR stories in order to capture good will, instead of acknowledging mistakes. we shouldn't care at all.

and the stupidity of those who concocted this thing - and we know it went way higher than a couple of PR officers - isn't yet another sign that our military is run in part by bumbling, stumbling idiots.

    You're misunderstanding me, leo.

I can't believe that anyone in our leadership -- military or civilian -- would think that the American people would care whether Tillman was killed by friendly fire or by enemy fire. Killed in action is killed in action.

The think the absolute worst of the public. Probably because they're familiar with the absolute worst in themselves.

Military porn. What a bunch of BS. Remember all the pics in the papers of the handsome Tillman in the wake of his death. Truly despicable.

My wish is that O'Reilly or, better yet, Hannitty, has Tillman's brother in studio and tries to give him shit. Then watch the fun begin.

What took so long to get to this point? These stories fell apart eons ago, especially the one about Lynch. Heads should already have rolled in high places and it doesn't take an investigative genius to trace the level of involvement.

Congress was in the hands of people who didn;t care about oversight.
    That was remedied last fall.

Thank god that the democrats are in charge, they certainly are different. The country is moving in the right direction.
Nancy Pelosi's conduct differs from Denny Hastert's because...?
