    In the latest BCS standings.

    Also, WVU jumps Auburn.

Rutgers up two spots to 14th.

Louisville and Notre Dame both down a slot to 8th and 9th.

Since Ohio State plays Michigan, it shouldn't bother Southern Cal all that much. If the Trojans can hold serve, one of those top two spots is theirs.

That an unbeaten West Virginia jumped Auburn shouldn't be shocking, though it will gall the Southeastern Conference stalwarts.

Rutgers deserves to continue its surge, and much hand-wringing will be made for knocking down Touchdown Jesus.

    Release the hounds ...

I'm an SEC guy, and I don't have too big a problem with it. Of course, that's primarily because I'm giving them credit for busting Georgia's ass in the Sugar Bowl.

Auburn will drop further once Arkansas overdoses on pastry next week "at" Louisiana-Monroe (in Little Rock). Strength of opponent's schedule, etc.

Sure looks that way, doesn't it?
    Strange how that works out.
And, god, when did Iowa get to be so bad?
